Two Plants Install Fumes Eliminators (April 7, 1927)

Temporary devices for the elimination of hydrogen sulphide fumes at the plants of the Industrial Fiber Co., and the Graselli Chemical Co. have been installed by R. D. MacLaurin, commissioner of the division of trade wastes, City Manager W. R. Hopkins announced Thursday.

By means of the devices chlorine is being mixed with the fumes, in an effort to reduce the odor.

They will remain in use until the new city division and chemists of the plants involved have perfected a permanent system of eliminating the fumes.
